We are now located in the heart of Sydney’s CBD. This will mean improved service for not only city clients, but our existing client base as well.

Along with our move we have launched our new website. We aim to put a variety of information on the site over time to help and aid our customers. Also clients will find links for our new helpdesk software on the top left of the front page. This software allows Specialist IT to remotely control PCs over the internet and solve issues without coming onsite.

Chris is the newest member of our team, starting with us in June 2012. He has excellent knowledge in all aspects of networking, security, virtualization and Server and PC configuration.

Paul Davis         

Network Engineer

Paul started with Specialist IT in 2000 after completing his automotive trade certificate. His certifications include Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) and Citrix Certified Administrator (CCA).

He is currently working towards his Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification.

Mike Davis

Managing Director

Mike first began in the industry in the early 1970’s. His background is in electronics and he has had firsthand experience in the evolution of IT. From the early days with IBM, working on Mainframe computers that filled an office floor to today’s micro technology, he brings a wealth of experience. He started Specialist IT in 1980, and it has run continuously for almost 30 years. Mike has developed a client relationship that has kept several companies with us for 20 years and several generations of systems.

Websense is a filtering package which monitors and restricts what internet sites and programs staff can use. This software can be installed in a free 30 day trial mode allowing you to evaluate the software.

Block unwanted sites

Block productivity sapping websites such as Facebook and MySpace with full flexibility… block only certain users or sites at certain times of the day. Give some users full access and others limited access. Disable instant messaging such as MSN Messenger.

Limit Legal Liability

Block internet access to sites that may expose your company to legal issues such as adult/pornographic sites, gambling sites and sites related to illegal activity and copyright infringement.

Increase Security

Stop spyware and malware, before it is even downloaded to your computers, by blocking the sites it comes from.

Monitor Internet use

Monitor staff’s browsing habits. View who is browsing sites. Optionally have reports emailed to you daily/weekly. These reports can include top sites visited, top users’ time spent online and top categories of sites visited.
